Teaching Analytics with Visual Workflows: Monday 24th March 5pm to 6pm

Greetings educators

Apologies for the radio silence we have been busy behind the scenes lining up some interesting events for this year and to kick things off we have a visit from KNIME.

Save the date: Monday 24th March 5pm to 6pm

Presented by Dr Stefan Helfrich

Brief Description of the Session

In this workshop, participants will learn about the basics of the low-code KNIME Analytics Platform and how they can use it to include visual workflows in their teaching. We will create a simple workflow to familiarize attendees with KNIME, followed by a more comprehensive tour of the platform highlighting the advantages of using KNIME for teaching data-related topics in educational settings. Lastly, we'll dive into a more elaborate use case featuring an interactive data app to showcase practical applications of KNIME beyond the classroom.

Profile:

Dr. Stefan Helfrich oversees academic relations at KNIME and leads a team that supports educators and researchers to leverage KNIME in their work. Before joining KNIME in 2018, he worked as a staff scientist at the University of Konstanz, Germany, supporting users of the local microscopy facility with image and data analysis. During his PhD, he worked on computer vision applications to extract data for the modeling of biological systems, which is also when he started using KNIME to build workflows bridging domains.
